January of 1992, Westside Ministries emerged as a mission organization operating under the authority of Westside Church, Ashburn, Georgia. With a clear vision given to myself, by God, we set forth to share the Gospel as Gods’ Word ask us to in Mark 16:15 “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” Our ultimate spiritual covering is God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The spiritual leadership comes from Pastor T.D. Hall of Euless, Texas, Fellowship of Connected Churches and Ministries, our Pastoral Board and our Prayer Warriors.
God led us to our first mission trip to Honduras in 1992 and since then He has continued to open doors to send us back to Honduras with opportunities to share His love and minister to those in need through Medical/Dental, Eyeglass, Grooming and Shoe Brigades, Construction Projects and the Drilling of Wells for Water…and all brigades contain Evangelism for Christ! We know Westside Ministries ‘mission territory’ is the home of Honduran people!
In 2002, almost 10 years after our first trip to Honduras, we received an opportunity to purchase property in Lizapa, Honduras, to build a ‘mission-base’ for Westside Ministries. The name of this property is CENA (say-nah) which means ‘Having Supper’ and we like to think of it in both physical and spiritual text! We immediately began construction on a facility to house short term mission team members that travel with us to Honduras for ministry work. As of 2007, Westside Ministries has built, on the CENA property, a Missionary Team Dormitory that sleeps 40 comfortably- equipped with full baths, a Commercial Kitchen/Dining House that can prepare meals for 150+ people, and a Residential Staff House. The most exciting project we completed in 2006 is the Pastoral Training Center. It can hold 250+ people and we have conferences for the local pastors and laypeople and church services. There is a baptismal pool that we have been blessed to have used many times!
I believe that Westside Ministries along with Honduran Churches will Educate, Equip, Enable, Mentor and most of all Encourage pastors and laypeople to carry out the Great Commission as stated in Matthew 28: 19-20 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, Baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you.”
In September of 2001 Westside Ministries became a 501 (c) (3) corporation and continues to network with Interdenominational Churches and Ministries to accomplish the vision and plan that God gave for this ministry.
